Channel Islands Maritime Museum is pleased to announce their newest exhibition: "NAUTICA: ALL THINGS SEA; BY IT, IN IT, AND ABOVE IT."

The exhibition runs from, Sun, Jul 1, 2018 10:00 AM through Sun, Aug 26, 2018 4:00 PM

CIMM is featuring the art of 30 artists, including Kimberly-Ann Talbert, with presentations in both 2-D & 3-D Art.

Growing Habitat: LA’s Wildlife & Descanso

Descanso Gardens is a habitat for many living things: From heritage oaks, to native gray squirrels, to the vast network of mycorrhizal fungi in the soil underfoot. Descanso’s location, so close to an urban center, yet nestled in the foothills and connected to more “wild” areas, creates a prime opportunity to explore how humans and nature interact.

Growing Habitat: LA’s Wildlife and Descanso examines the idea that a healthy habitat is more than just a space with food, shelter and water. A vibrant and resilient habitat is full of movement and connection and wildlife – both seen and unseen. Come learn about the “wild side” our urban green space, and about some of the “habitat heroes” who work to improve the health and strength of our ecosystems.

Free Tours are available of the historic Frank Lanterman House, a bungalow-style historic house museum in La Cañada Flintridge, California on the National Register of Historic Places. The house was commissioned by Dr. Roy Lanterman in 1915 and was built by A. L. Haley (b. 1865), who was a prominent builder of both residences and commercial buildings in the Los Angeles area.
