The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back.   The wooden frame includes a hanging wire for easy mounting on your wall (see photo on the left).

In the sleepy town San Juan Capistrano, in Southern California, a Moorish-style fountain can be found inside Mission San Juan Capistrano's central courtyard. The fountain was built over 90 years ago, in the 1920s through the efforts of Father St. John O'Sullivan who finished his recovery from TB at the Mission, overseeing the rebuilding of the Mission and creating the central Fountain in the courtyard.

I had the opportunity to visit the Mission during a 5 day Plein Air Painting workshop on the West Coast, The rain had briefly stopped and we had several hours of broken sunshine in which to capture the beauty of Mission San Juan Capistrano. My primary focus had been the fountain, alive with water lilies in purples and soft white.

This painting is the first in the series, A close-up of the white water lilies is the second, and the third, a view down the archway of the mission.
